Sunday 11th February 2018 saw Raith seniors taken to the pitch to play against Glasgow Titans for the first time, Glasgow Titans are a new team to the fold having completed the man vs food weight lose challnge.
In contrast to the weather against Morton it saw our manager Jim Harvey taken his place in goals in the absence of the fist chocie goalkeepr Jason.
Raith started the game well and saw them playing some fantastic football at times but found themseleves getting caught offside sveral times in the first 20 minutes. Raith pushed forward with attack after attack and found the Titans goalkeeper in excellent form.
As the half continued Raith found themselves creating lots of space with goals being scored with 2 goals from Jock Gemmel and one from Sam Guess, the first half also saw what could possibly be move of the year when Jock played a cross in to the box and was chested down by Sam before Kev Mercer saw his half volley come back off the inside of the post. Titans were playing some nice football and created several chances with Jim pulling out a couple of saves.
Half time Raith 3-0 Titans
2nd half saw the introduction of Ross Greer, Paul Lawson and Calum Watson and conitued in the same way as the first half with Raith pushing forward and saw the Titans relaying on long balls thorugh the second half. Raith could have been 6 or 7 in the lead if it wasnt for poor finshing and mistimed runs. Evenatuly the pressure did pay off when Paul Lawson recived a pass and blasted the ball past the keeper.
Titans did manage to pull one goal back when a long ball resulted on the forward being 1 on 1 with the keeper and he fired home despite the keeper getting his hand to it.
Overall a sold performane by the Raith senior lads with Kev and Willie controling the middle and the enegery of Jock going forward causing lots of problems and Jim was solid in the stick coming for crosses and talking to the defense and dealt with most shots on goal comfortably.
